The Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange or PITX, a landport with modern facilities comparable to the international airport of the country, is set to open for the public this coming November. 

No one can deny the traffic situation in the country, especially in Metro Manila. This is because of the excessive number of vehicles passing. One of the reasons for this, are the bus terminals scattered around the area of Manila. We can notice that traffic is worse in the area near these terminals.

In order to address this problem, the Department of Transportation has decided to create a big terminal to combine bus terminals in one place to reduce traffic in the city. At first glance you will think that it is our international airport. Fully air conditioned, with free charging station, free wi-fi, and elegant bathroom.

Like airports, it also has gates for arrival and departure and luggage carts for passenger luggage. It also has prayer rooms for those who want to pray before they go to their destination.

PITX operates passenger buses, vans, and jeepneys from Cavite and Batangas. According to PITX's General Manager, Mariano Arroyo Jr., PITX's main objective is to reduce traffic in Metro Manila. Buses and jeepneys will have a single terminal so they can not stop on the street to pick up passengers, and to remove large terminals in the center of Manila itself.

DOTR Asec Mark De Leon clarified that no extra fees will be charged to passengers who are going to PITX to ride. Meanwhile, a small terminal fee will be taken from bus companies and jeepneys.

The PITX is set to open in the first week of November and the government plans to create more than 2 similar terminals in other parts of Manila.
