Ang tinaguriang “Green Gateway to the World” ay mayroong mga environment friendly features tulad ng solar panels sa Passenger Terminal Building nito at gagamit din ito ng natural ventilation. Kapag natapos ang bagong Panglao airport inaasahang tataas ang turismo sa Bohol dahil kaya nitong mag accommodate nang hanggang sa 2 milyong pasahero kung saan doble sa kayang i-accommodate sa Tagbilaran airport.
