Alejano sobrang binanatan ang Duterte Gov't 'Duterte's war on drugs destroy the democracy process of our country'

"In the last, almost three years e palpak po ang war on drugs ng Pangulo," Alejano said at a news forum in Quezon City on Saturday.

"Pero pinatay niya ang democratic institutions. Pinatay niya rin ang democratic processes. Pinatay niya ang karapatang pantao. Binago ang depinisyon nito at in fact parang binago ang ating pagkakaintindi kung sino tayo bilang Pilipino," he said.

Alejano said the Philippines has no right to be part of the UN Human Rights Council as thousands have already been killed in the government's notorious war on drugs.

"Hindi niya pinatay ang ilegal na droga," the lawmaker said, adding that what the war on drugs killed are the democratic processes and institutions.

"Pinatay niya at sinira ang mga democratic institutions, especially ang police. Instead na maging magaling ang police sa pag-iimbestiga, instead na magaling siya mag-monitor, tinuruan mo siya mag-shortcut. Inilagay sa utak niya na kaya pala i-shortcut ang proseso at patayin siya, puwede namang suspect pa lamang siya at hindi naman siya involved kaagad ay dinamay ko na lang siya sa issue ng droga," Alejano added.

"So tinuruan mo ang pulis na i-shortcut ang proseso, tinuruan mo ang piskal na sumunod sa gusto ng pulis kasi takot silang magsabi na, 'Wala 'to chief, 'yung kaso mo trumped up ito,'" he said.
