Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go has confirmed that President Rodrigo Duterte is in Hong Kong, hours after photos surfaced of the Chief Executive inside a clothing store in Causeway Bay. In a Facebook post Saturday (October 6), Go shared photos of him with Duterte, the President’s long time partner Honeylet Avanceña and their daughter Kitty. Duterte and his family were wearing the same clothes they did when photos of them were snapped inside Uniqlo.

The President, however, was not wearing a face mask in the photos shared by Go. In posting the photos, Go said: “Bago maunahan pa ng mga Fakenews kailangan din magpahinga ng Pangulo.” There was no mention of when Duterte and his family will be in Hong Kong, or when they left the country. Hours before Go’s Facebook post, journalist Ellen Tordesillas shared photos of Duterte with his family inside a Uniqlo store in Hong Kong. He was wearing a cap and face mask. Duterte was last seen in public on Thursday (October 4), when he dined with members of the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association in Malacañang. The Palace did not release any details of Duterte’s Hong Kong trip
